What FluentFi does with your information

This page describes what this software actually does. It is written for students, teachers and families, not for lawyers.

What we ask you for

When you first sign in, we ask for your name. It appears on your certificate, and it is how your course leader recognises your work in their list.

We do not ask for your email address, your date of birth, your home address, or your phone number.

What we keep

• The writing you hand in for each module
• Your quiz answers and scores
• Which modules you have finished
• Which group or class you are in, and who leads it

That is held in a database run by Supabase, which stores it for us.

What leaves this app, and where it goes

Some parts of FluentFi use AI services run by other companies. When you use them, your words are sent to those companies so they can answer.

• Anthropic receives the writing you hand in, so it can be marked and commented on. It also receives what you type to the tutor, and the choices you make in a simulation.
• OpenAI receives the text of a lesson when you press Listen, so it can be read aloud. If you use the microphone to ask the tutor a question, it receives that recording so it can turn your speech into text. The recording is not saved.

Your name and your student record are never sent to either of them. They receive what you wrote, not who wrote it.

We do not use any analytics, tracking or advertising service. Nothing on this site follows you anywhere else.

Other students cannot see your work. Someone running a different group or class cannot see your work.

The research questionnaire

If it is turned on, you may be asked to take a short questionnaire before and after the course. It does not count towards your grade or your certificate, and you do not have to take it. There is a page explaining it before you start, including what is stored and who can work out whose answers are whose.

Asking for your information to be removed

Ask your course leader. They can have a student's work and quiz results removed.
